PBN was created when Pacific Dunlop Limited (PDL) purchased MMT Australia Pty Ltd in 1994. This new entity was formed to take advantage of the emerging broadband activity in the Australian and Asia-Pacific regions. As a result of a business re-focus by PDL in 1997, PBN was re-purchased by two founding employees of the company.

The Products Group
The Products Group is responsible for researching, designing, developing and manufacturing a broad range of advanced optical fibre products. The products are typically used by the Broadcasting, Cable and ICT industries.
PBN Connect (The Projects Group)
PBN Connect is responsible for providing turnkey solutions in optical fibre broadband network design, supply, installation, activation and ongoing maintenance. The specific services are used extensively for telecommunication, broadcasting, information technology, broadband and CATV markets. This group also offers on-site Field Maintenance services.
