Broadband Services Gateway - EdgeQAM

About the Product
The Light Link® Series 2 Broadband Services Gateway units with EdgeQAM modulators are intended for last mile of the television distribution network, where digital video transport streams over IP will terminate and be converted to QAM modulated RF channels. The Broadband Services Gateway can be deployed for the last mile in HFC, RFoG or FTTH topologies with RF overlay whereas all three technologies can integrate seamlessly with the modern EdgeQAM architectures.
The Broadband Services Gateway can initially be equipped for 32 QAM carriers and grow by adding modulator modules up to an impressive total of 128 QAM carriers within 2RU rack space. This provides ample capacity for more than 1000 television programs in a mix of Standard Definition (SD) format and High Definition (HD) format.
In addition, the unit can serve as a universal Edge QAM modulator for DOCSIS-3.0 bonded channel data services. Compliance with ITU-T Recommendation J.83 for the transmission of television, sound programme and other multimedia signals will ensure a clear path to future broadband multimedia services. DVB-C standards are supported, including the latest DVB-C2 improvements. DVB SI table re-generation to ETR 211 is a standard inclusion. Pre-encrypted content supported.
The Broadband Services Gateway can be managed via a web browser for local setup and easy mapping of the incoming transport streams to the QAM outputs. An SNMP interface is available to fit the gateway into larger network management systems. The management port is separate from the transport stream inputs to ensure network integrity.
Unicast, multicast, SSM or L2TPv3 streams are all supported. There is also support for switched digital video to reserve QAM bandwidth for use in Video on Demand (VoD) systems.
