Light Link ® Direct

CPON-LAN - Customer Premises Optical Node

Description

Light Link® Direct CPON-LAN is part of our very successful FTTH product range, providing true broadband access for CATV and fast Ethernet over one single mode fibre core.

Fibre-to-the-home is now an economic reality. The CPON-LAN delivers 100 Mbps full duplex fast Ethernet together with 45 MHz to 870 MHz RF cable television in a small enclosure.

Designed to operate on one single fibre core the unit will provide substantial savings in external cable plant. The integrated fibre splice organiser negates the need for any extra boxes. The small size also allows easy installation outdoors or in wiring closets.

The core of the CPON-LAN consists of a high performance and low-noise broadband optical receiver module, capable of handling large numbers of radio and television channels for simultaneous delivery. This can be a mix of legacy analog television channels together with the new digital DVB-C and DVB-T standards.

The CPON-LAN is powered from an external mains plug-pack or an external battery. There is a battery charging circuit and an auxiliary power connection for an optional external telephony adapter. During mains failures, the CATV receiver shuts down to conserve power but the Ethernet transceiver and the telephony adapter operate from the external battery.
