Fast/Gigabit Ethernet Line Transmission Module - for OCMR

About the Product

The LTM802 line transmission modules for OCM operate bi-directionally over one single-mode fibre core. The modules deliver full-duplex Fast Ethernet or full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet to remote headends or to data network subscribers. A popular application is the use as an Ethernet uplink in distributed DOCSIS CMTS deployments.

The local area network (LAN) interface supports auto-negotiating 10/100 Mbps Ethernet or fixed 1000 Mbps Gigabit ethernet via an RJ-45 twisted pair connector.

The RJ-45 twisted pair connection allows the use of legacy ethernet switching or routing equipment. This gear can now readily connect to fibre optic trunk lines at minimum cost.

The wide area network (WAN) interface supports one angle polished fibre-optic connector for full duplex bi-directional same wavelength operation from 10 km to well over 110 km line lengths.

• Gigabit multimode to single mode conversion and optical wavelength conversion from 1310 nm to any CWDM wavelength at 1510 nm, 1530 nm, 1550 nm or 1570 nm. (Other wavelengths may be available on detailed request.)
• Connects remote CMTS units with full-duplex Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet over one bi-directional single-mode fibre.
• Optional integrated optical add-drop multiplexer (OADM) for the overlay of other wavelengths on the same fibre core.
• Readily available options for unrepeated long-fibre lines, as customary in High Voltage (HV) electrical supply networks.
• Indicator LEDs show link status and data activity for both the copper port and fibre port.
• Use two identical LTM802 units to create a link.
