EDFA - Erbuim Doped Fibre Amplifier 1550nm

The Light Link® Series 2 Erbium Doped Fibre Amplifier (EDFA) has been designed for cable television applications. The unit is suitable for long haul transmission networks and for high density FTTH distribution networks. The optical amplifier is packaged in a self-contained 19" sub-rack of 1 RU with universal mains power supply and SNMP management as standard inclusions to provide a complete solution.

The optical output power levels can be ordered from 20 mW (13 dBm) to 1280 mW (31 dBm). Up to 80 mW, a single pump laser is used. The larger EDFA units employ dual pump lasers in a two-stage design with inter-stage isolators.

Light Link ® Series 2 is designed to extend a 1550 nm CATV system fibre without need to convert back to RF. Combined with our LTE152 externally modulated laser transmitter, long range feeder lines and high subscriber count FTTH networks are now easy to deploy.
