LT1310 - Laser Transmitter with Return Path Receivers

The Light Link ® Series 2 optical transmitters employ high performance thermally stabilised distributed feedback (DFB) lasers with integrated optical isolator. The unit transmits AM-VSB, CATV, CCTV, DVB-C and DVB-T signals together with DOCSIS over a 1310 nm single mode optical fibre.

An option for the provision of up to four optical return path receivers permits easy integration with a CMTS, serving an entire small village or suburb with cable television and DOCSIS. There is also a configuration as repeater by using a forward path receiver module.

LT1310 optical transmitter incorporates a comprehensive alarm and status monitoring system of all laser operating parameters such as DC laser bias current, laser temperature, cooler current, optical output power, RF levels, and more.

The status monitoring data is available on a large LCD readout as well as through a front panel mounted USB craft port. An Ethernet port for SNMP/HTTP network connectivity is available as an option.

An extensive range of optical output power levels are available to suit most networks.

• High quality 1310 nm distributed feedback (DFB) laser with cooler and isolator. Suits analog television as well as DVB digital television broadcasting for HD and SD.

• A separate narrowcasting input provides seamless CMTS integration for DOCSIS cable modem services.

• Integrated 45 MHz to 1000 MHz RF amplifier with automatic gain control (AGC) for a constant optical modulation index (OMI)

• Lateral fan cooling permits the full use of all available rack space.

• Large backlit LCD display with keypad provides status monitoring and control.

• Options for up to 4 return path receivers with pilot detection and FSK decoder for remote optical node status monitoring. Another option provides for configuration as a complete repeater, employing an FPRM based forward path receiver.

• Front panel mounted USB craft port with optional Ethernet port on the rear panel for SNMP/HTTP network management.
