LL802D - Fast Ethernet Fibre Node for Daisy-Chain Networks

The LL802D optical node is designed for daisy-chain network topologies in campus deployments or Intelligent Traffic Systems and similar applications. Each node has two fibre ports and four copper ports.

The fibre ports are designed to operate bi-directionally on a single wavelength, over one single mode optical fibre for up to 15 km. There is an option for dual multimode fibres up to 2 km per link.

A typical application would be a highway with loop detectors every 0.5 km or so, together with variable message signs, weigh-in-motion detectors, help-phones with VoIP cards, IP based video cameras, etc. An integrated SNMP agent permits continuous remote system monitoring, irrespective of connected devices.

This bi-directional single fibre solution can produce substantial savings where line rental is paid per fibre core.

• Supports bi-directional operation over one single mode fibre core per port, using only one angle polished SC/APC fibre connector (green). There is an option for MT-RJ duplex multimode ports.

• Auto-negotiating 10/100 Mbps copper ports with MDI/MDI-X auto crossover and with port-based and tag-based VLAN.

• Full-duplex IEEE802.3x flow control and half-duplex broadcast storm protection.

• Priority port with a separate buffer to support VoIP or video applications.

• Remote diagnostics, monitoring, and setup via DHCP, SNMP and HTTP.

• Clear indicator LEDs for link status and data activity for both the copper port and the fibre port.

• Designed to meet Australian Standard AS 2578.
