WDM
WDM
Optical Wavelength Division Multiplexer

About the Product
Pacific Broadband Networks (PBN) offers a range of optical wavelength division multiplexers (WDM) to further enhance fibre optic networks by increasing the transmission capacity of fibre to double that used by a single wavelength. The wavelengths of interest are 1310 nm and 1550 nm.
Using fused biconic taper (FBT) techniques and fibre Bragg grating (FBG) designs, the WDM units provide high wavelength isolation and low optical loss.
The variants are available in three distinct housings from its most basic tubular packed form, through a small and robust rectangular package, to a rugged metal housing for the high isolation models.
Features
- 1310 nm / 1550 nm operation.
- Tubular housing for direct splicing into the fibre network, or rugged enclosures for standalone applications.
- Completely passive devices.
- High reliability with precision tolerances.
- High optical isolation and high directivity.
- Very low optical through loss and high return loss.
- Wide temperature range, making the units suitable for outdoor applications.
